How to Speak Argentinian
I was reading the venerable Wine Spectator magazine on the plane from Point A to Point B the other day.  If you want to sound like you know what you're talking about on the subject of Malbec--and who doesn't?--here are the top descriptors used for Malbec in their tasting notes:

Unabashed licorice
Mouthwatering streak of briar
Macerated black currant fruit
Shaved vanilla
Medium-weight raspberry compote
Fruitcake hints
Red licorice

Of course, no Malbec is complete without Fig and Plum in all their possible variations:
Fig: Crushed fig, Slightly jammy fig, Fig sauce, Fig paste
Plum: Crushed plum, Full-bodied plum, Broad, easygoing plum, Plum sauce, mulled plum, Weighty core of plum

Unfortunately, none of their top rated Malbecs are in stores yet.  Will keep you posted.  Posted, get it?!
